Retail trade turnover increased in June 2025 by 7.5% at the annual level

The increase continues for the 27th consecutive month

In June 2025, the total seasonally and working-day adjusted deflated retail trade turnover of all business entities engaged in this activity was in real terms 3.5% higher than in May 2025. Out of that, the retail trade turnover of food products increased by 3.3% and the retail trade turnover of non-food products (except of automotive fuels and lubricants) by 1.8%.

In June 2025, compared to the same month of the previous year, the working-day adjusted retail trade turnover increased in real terms by 7.5%. Out of that, the retail trade turnover of food, beverages and tobacco increased by 3.6% and the retail trade turnover of non-food products (except of automotive fuels and lubricants) by 11.5%.
In the first six months of 2025, working-day adjusted retail trade turnover increased in real terms by 4.4%, as compared to the same period of the previous year.

The largest impact on the increase in the nominal turnover in June 2025 compared to the same month of the previous year, according to gross, unadjusted indices, was recorded in the following trade branches: Non-specialised retail trade with food, beverages and tobacco predominating, with a rise in turnover of 9.8% and an impact on the total turnover of 3.6%, Automotive fuels and lubricants, with a rise in turnover of 8.5% and an impact on the total turnover of 1.6%, and Dispensing chemists, medical and orthopaedic goods, optical products, cosmetic and toilet articles, with a rise in turnover of 11.9% and an impact on the total turnover of 1.0%. Accordingly, the total gross retail trade turnover increased in nominal terms by 9.6% compared to the same month of the previous year.
