Director General Lidija Brković at KOMferencija 2022: „13 September 2021 entered the history books of Croatian statistics“

Panel entitled „Digital Communication Platforms in Government and Public Sectors” brought together experts in the field of government and public administration

The Director General of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics Lidija Brković participated in a two-day conference on communications KOMferencija 2022, organised by the Croatian Public Relations Association (HUOJ) in Zagreb from 2 to 3 May. The topic of this year’s edition was the crisis.

A special panel entitled „Digital Communication Platforms in Government and Public Sectors” brought together experts in the field of government and public administration. The panel was attended by: Lidija Brković, Director of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, Bernard Gršić, State Secretary of the Central State Office for the Development of a Digital Society, Jure Sertić, CEO of the Commercial Services Agency, and Anton Brkić, Manager of e-Visitor and Application Solutions Department at the Croatian National Tourist Board.

The panel discussed the Census of Population, Households and Dwellings in the Republic of Croatia in 2021, the redesign of the e-Citizens portal, the digital COVID certificate and the e-Visitor system (a unique system of the Croatian Tourist Board).

„13 September 2021 entered the history books of Croatian statistics as the day when we abandoned paper forms of the Census questionnaire and digitised, i. e. modernised the data collection method”, said the Director General of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics talking about the first digital census of population conducted in our country.

The State Secretary Bernard Gršić concluded that an increasing number of citizens is using electronic services via the e-Citizens portal and the number of unique users is growing day-to-day.
