One of the panel discussion topics: Making case for the digital euro
The already traditional 31st Dubrovnik Economic Conference was held from 6 to 8 June 2025 in Dubrovnik. The conference once again brought together the leading representatives of international financial institutions, central banks, academia and the business sector. The first day of the conference was focused on discussing inflation targeting as a global monetary standard, post-pandemic inflation and its impact on interest rates in the US, and whether tariff wars will be followed by currency wars.
On the second day of the conference, participants discussed the communication of central banks in the event of unexpected changes in monetary policy, the future of banking, the (de)regulation of the financial sector, economic and financial policy making in the context of climate change, and reviewing the opportunities and challenges associated with the digital euro.
