The Director General of the CBS will represent the IAOS at the ISI
Lidija Brković, Director General of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, was elected as a
member of the Executive Committee of the International Association for Official Statistics (IAOS) for Europe and Central Asia in the period from 2025 to 2027.
International experts have recognised her significant contribution to official statistics, thus confirming that the activities of official statistics in the Republic of Croatia are carried out at a high level. During her two-year term, the Director General will represent IAOS and its core values at the International Statistical Institute (ISI).
IAOS is an international non-governmental organisation established in 1985 as part of ISI, with the aim of promoting understanding and improving official statistics and developing effective statistical services. It brings together experts in the field of statistics to promote the exchange of knowledge, experience and innovation in official statistics. IAOS carries out a number of significant projects and initiatives, including the regular organisation of international conferences, the awarding of prizes for outstanding work in the field of official statistics to young experts,
the publication of the "Statistical Journal of the IAOS (SJIAOS)", and the strengthening of the capacity of official statistics in developing countries through education and cooperation. The work of the Association is managed by the Executive Committee, which is responsible for promoting the objectives of the IAOS.
