The highest increase of prices recorded in the division Restaurants and hotels, of 10.1%
In November 2024 compared to November 2023 (at the annual level), the prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index, increased by 2.8% on average, while, compared to October 2024 (at the monthly level), they increased by 0.4% on average.
Observing the main divisions of the ECOICOP classification, at the annual level, the highest increase on average in consumer prices was recorded in the following divisions: Restaurants and hotels, of 10.1% (contribution to the growth of +0.51 percentage points), Miscellaneous goods and services, of 6.7% (+0.42 percentage points), Education, of 5.3% (+0.04 percentage points), Health, of 5.2% (+0.16 percentage points), Food and non-alcoholic beverages, of 4.8% (+1.27 percentage points), Recreation and culture, of 4.7% (+0.24 percentage points), Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, of 3.4% (+0.17 percentage points), and Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, of 2.3% (+0.39 percentage points). The increase in prices at the annual level was alleviated by a decrease in the prices in the divisions Communication, of 6.4% (contribution to the decrease of -0.34 percentage points), Transport, of 0.5% (-0.07 percentage points) and Clothing and footwear, of 0.1% (-0.01 percentage points).
In November 2024 compared to November 2023 (at the annual level), the prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the harmonised index of consumer prices, increased by 4.0% on average. Compared to October 2024 (at the monthly level), remained at the same level on average.
