Data for the period from the first quarter of 2019 to the first quarter of 2024 included
The Labour Force Survey is the most comprehensive official survey on the labour market characteristics in the Republic of Croatia. It is conducted on the sample of randomly selected private households, with the sample frame based on the Census of Population, Households and Dwellings in the Republic of Croatia in 2021 (the 2021 Census).
The Croatian Bureau of Statistics revised the Labour Force Survey data for the period from the first quarter of 2019 to the fourth quarter of 2022 in order to maintain coherence of the Labour Force Survey data with the demographic statistics and the 2021 Census. Data for the period from the first quarter of 2023 to the first quarter of 2024, already previously estimated according to the results of the 2021 Census, are revised due to availability of the final population estimates of the Republic of Croatia.
With the revision of data for the period from the first quarter of 2019 to the first quarter of 2024, the data have been weighted according to the population estimates based on the 2021 Census, while the data for the previous quarters have been weighted according to the population estimates based on the 2011 Census. This caused a break in data time series and therefore the data for the first quarter of 2019 onwards are no longer comparable with the data from previous quarters.
Since the population estimates of Republic of Croatia have been revised in line with the demographic statistics for the entire intercensal period from 2012 to 2020, the Labour Force Survey data for the period from the first quarter of 2012 to the fourth quarter of 2018 will be subsequently revised and published by the end of 2024 at the latest. This will conclude the overall process of Labour Force Survey data revision, providing a time series of comparable data from the first quarter of 2007 onwards.
