In June 2024 compared to June 2023 (at the annual level), the prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index, increased by 2.4% on average, while compared to May 2024 (at the monthly level), they remained at the same level on average.
Observing the main divisions of the ECOICOP classification, at the annual level, the highest increase on average in consumer prices was recorded in the following divisions: Restaurants and hotels, of 9.6% (contribution to the growth of +0.49 percentage points), Education, of 5.4% (+0.04 percentage points), Health, of 5.1% (+0.16 percentage points), Miscellaneous goods and services, of 4.0% (+0.25 percentage points), Recreation and culture, of 3.7% (+0.19 percentage points), Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, of 3.6% (+0.18 percentage points), Transport, of 3.0% (+0.42 percentage points), Clothing and footwear, of 2.2% (+0.14 percentage points), Food and non-alcoholic beverages, of 1.8% (+0.48 percentage points), Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance, of 1.5% (+0.09 percentage points), and Communication, of 1.0% (+0.05 percentage points).
In June 2024 compared to June 2023 (at the annual level), the prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the harmonised index of consumer prices, increased by 3.5% on average. Compared to May 2024 (at the monthly level), they increased by 0.8% on average.
