Check out the population density in your settlement

As much as 195 settlements are without inhabitants, while the suburban area of Dubrovnik, Nova Mokošica, is the most densely populated settlement
 

From now, on the GeoSTAT portal, you can find data on population density based on the results of the Census of Population, Households and Dwellings in 2021. It is posible to examine the number of inhabitants per km2 at the level of units of local self-government (towns/municipalities) and settlements.

The most densely populated spatial units at the level of towns/municipalities are the City of Rijeka (2 488.75 pop./km2), the City of Split (2 022.51 pop./km2) and the City of Zagreb (1 196.33 pop./km2), while the least densely populated spatial units are the Municipality of Lanišće (1.86 pop./km2), the Municipality of Udbina (1.95 pop./km2) and the Municipality of Civljane (2.06 pop./km2).

The lowest population density in general is present in high-country and mountainous areas as well as in depopulation areas of Lika, Gorski kotar, Kordun, Banovina and Slavonia. On the other hand, Hrvatsko zagorje and Međimurje is characterised by continuous medium population density.

As regards settlements, the Census 2021 determined that 195 out of a total of 6 757 settlements are not inhabited, i.e. that they have 0 population. In cartographic display, such settlements are marked as a separate class (“No occurrence”). The lowest population density are recorded in the settlements of Divoselo, Počitelj and Tiškovac Lički, each of them with 0.02 pop./km2.

Nova Mokošica (the City of Dubrovnik) is without doubt the most densely populated settlement with 15 046.69 pop./km2, a housing estate on the surface area of around 0.37 km2 and built within the programme of state-subsidised housing construction. These are followed by settlements of Split, with 6 495.49 pop./km2, and Parag (the Municipality of Nedelišće), the biggest Roma settlement in Croatia, with 5 762.73 pop./km2.
