The Conference will provide a platform for the heads of statistical offices to address new issues and develop guidelines, and make recommendations for improving national statistics and their international comparability.
The Conference also discusses the work of the High-level Group for the Modernisation of Official Statistics (HLG-MOS) as well as the results of analyses carried out by the Bureau of the Conference of European Statisticians, while guidance and recommendations will be submitted to the Conference members for approval.
The Conference of European Statisticians is one of the oldest statistical bodies in the world, with its roots in the League of Nations and the first Statistical Conference held in 1928.
Over the years, the Conference has played an important role in promoting statistical development in the Member States.
