Highest increase in Food and non-alcoholic beverages division
The prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index, increased by 0.1% on average in August 2022, as compared to July 2022. As compared to August 2021, that is, at the annual level, they increased by 12.3% on average, while on the annual average they increased by 7.8%.
Observed by the main divisions of the ECOICOP classification, the highest increase in consumer prices at the annual level was recorded in the following divisions: Food and non-alcoholic beverages, of 19.2% (contribution to the growth rate of +4.98 percentage points), Restaurants and hotels, of 17.6% (+0.88 percentage points), Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance, of 15.3% (+0.87 percentage points), Transport, of 14.1% (+2.08 percentage points), Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, of 10.5% (+1.77 percentage points), Recreation and culture, of 9.4% (+0.50 percentage points), Miscellaneous goods and services, of 8.1% (+0.50 percentage points), and Clothing and footwear, of 6.4% (+0.37 percentage points).
