The prices of goods and services for personal consumption continue to increase

In June 2022 compared to the same period of 2021, the prices of goods and services increased by 12.1%

In June 2022 compared to May 2022, the prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index, increased by 1.1% on average. Compared to June 2021, that is, at the annual level, they increased by 12.1% on average, while on the annual average they increased by 6.3%.

Observing the main divisions of the ECOICOP classification, at the annual level, the highest increase on average in consumer prices was recorded in the following divisions: Transport, of 20.3%, Food and non-alcoholic beverages, of 16.9%, Restaurants and hotels, of 14.6%, Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance, of 13.0%, Clothing and footwear, of 11.1%, Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, of 9.6%, Recreation and culture, of 8.0%, and Miscellaneous goods and services, of 7.2%.

The largest contribution to the growth rate of the annual index came from the following divisions: Food and non-alcoholic beverages (+4.38 percentage points), Transport (+2.99 percentage points), Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+1.62 percentage points), Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (+0.74 percentage points), Restaurants and hotels (+0.73 percentage points) and Clothing and footwear (+0.65 percentage points).

At the monthly level, the highest increase on average in consumer prices was recorded in the divisions Restaurants and hotels, of 3.5% (contribution to the growth of +0.17 percentage points), Transport, of 2.1% (+0.31 percentage points), Recreation and culture, of 1.8% (+0.09 percentage points), Food and non-alcoholic beverages, of 1.7% (+0.44 percentage points), Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance, of 1.3% (+0.07 percentage points), Communication, of 1.0% (+0.05 percentage points),  Miscellaneous goods and services, of 0.7% (+0.04 percentage points), and Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, of 0.6% (+0.10 percentage points).
