Increase in consumer price indices in eight divisions
In February 2022 compared to February 2021, that is, at the annual level, the prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index, increased by 6.3% on average.
The increase in consumer prices was recorded in eight divisions, with the largest increase being recorded in Transport, of 10.7%, Food and non-alcoholic beverages, of 10.0%, and Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance, of 6.5%. The largest contribution to the growth rate of the annual index came from the division Food and non-alcoholic beverages, of 2.59 percentage points.
Energy prices 10.4% higher
Observing the selected groups, the highest increase on average in consumer prices at the annual level was recorded in the groups Energy, of 10.4%, Unprocessed food, of 10.0%, and Food, beverages and tobacco, of 9.4%.
The highest increase at the monthly level in the prices of Clothing and footwear
The prices of goods and services for personal consumption increased by 0.9% on average in February 2021 compared to January 2021, with the highest increase being recorded in the divisions Clothing and footwear, of 0.3%, Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance, of 1.9%, and Transport, of 1.6%.
