What have we been doing for the last 150 years?
You are just one click away from the answer to that question!
Do you know what can happen in a span of 54 787 days, 7 826 weeks, 1 800 months, or 150 years? That is exactly how much time has passed since the establishment of the Office for State Statistics back in 1875, marking the official beginning of statistical monitoring and recording of social and economic developments.During that long period, publication formats, tools used, dissemination methods, and employees have changed, but one thing has remained the same: the provision of timely, high-quality, and reliable statistical data. The Croatian Bureau of Statistics has been, and continues to be, the most relevant source of statistical data needed for making informed decisions, shaping policy, and ultimately contributing to a higher-quality society.
Such a significant anniversary certainly deserves to be celebrated appropriately, but we didn't blow out candles on a cake, as there would simply be too many of them. Instead, we have prepared a wealth of interesting information about our long history. All you need to do is click, take a walk, and browse.

In honour of this important anniversary, we have created a special section on the website of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics - 150 Years of Croatian Statistics - where we have "stored" in one place everything we have been, and everything we are today, to make it as clear and accessible as possible. Although selecting the most important moments from a century and a half of activity has been a challenge, we have presented our milestones in the form of a timeline - and you are just one click away from discovering how we have developed and progressed over all these years!
