Statistics successfully finds its place among secondary school students across Croatia

Regardless of the region or school they attend, secondary school students love statistics – this is the conclusion of the fifth, jubilee edition of the Statistics Competition.

However, awards for the best in category A travel to the coastal areas, while in category B they will find their place in continental Croatia. The victory in category A, consisting of 3rd and 4th grade students, was taken by the team LUCKY from the Secondary School Biograd na Moru. The second place goes to Rijeka, in the hands of the members of the team LUX2 from the Mijo Mirković School of Economics, while the awards for the third place will go a little westward, more precisely to the Gymnasium and Vocational School Juraj Dobrila in Pazin to the team BINOM22.

The best team in category B, in which secondary school students of the 1st and 2nd grade compete, is GUSARI from the Fifteenth Gymnasium. The Electromechanical School Varaždin, which was very successful in previous editions of the competition, has its representatives among the best this year as well, since the team ROBOT won the second place and the team EKIPA8 third place.

For the third year in a row, the Public Choice Award is given, the interest for which is growing. The public had the opportunity to express their opinion and choose the presentation they like the most, in both categories. Last year's four thousand votes were now exceeded many times, as more than 11 thousand votes were collected in five days of voting. It is a proof that the interest in the Statistics Competition is growing year by year. The team MEC from the Electromechanical School Varaždin has a loyal group of fans, as this year, they won in category A, while among 1st and 2nd grade students, the most votes were won by the team ZAJMOVI from the Secondary School of Commerce Zagreb.
