The total number of persons in employment in May 2026 amounted to 1 739 878

Registered unemployment rate was 3.4%

In May 2026, the total number of persons in employment in the Republic of Croatia was 1 739 878, out of which 809 174 were women. Compared to April 2026, the total number of persons in employment increased by 2.2% and the number of employed women by 1.8%. Compared to the same month of the previous year, the total number of persons in employment in May 2026 decreased by 1.1% and the number of employed women by 0.6%.

In May 2026, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in the Republic of Croatia amounted to 1 494 078, out of which 707 847 were women. Compared to April 2026, the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities increased by 1.9%, while the number of employed women increased by 1.5%. The number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in May 2026, as compared to the same month of the previous year, decreased by 1.5%, while the number of employed women decreased by 0.9%.

The total number of unemployed persons decreased by 9.2% and the number of unemployed women by 9.7% in May 2026, as compared to April 2026. The total registered unemployment rate in May 2026 was 3.4% and for women, it was 3.8%.
