The prices in September increased by 4.2% at the annual level
The highest increase once again in the division Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels
In September 2025 compared to September 2024 (at the annual level), the prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index, increased by 4.2% on average, while, compared to August 2025 (at the monthly level), they increased by 0.4% on average.Observing the main divisions of the ECOICOP classification, at the annual level, the highest increase on average in consumer prices was recorded in the following divisions: Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, of 8.8% (contribution to the growth of +1.49 percentage points), Restaurants and hotels, of 7.0% (+0.36 percentage points), Food and non-alcoholic beverages, of 5.7% (+1.52 percentage points), Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, of 5.3% (+0.26 percentage points), Health as well as Miscellaneous goods and services, of 4.5% in each division (contribution to the growth of +0.14 percentage points in the division Health and +0.28 percentage points in the division Miscellaneous goods and services), Recreation and culture, of 3.2% (+0.17 percentage points), Communication, of 2.4% (+0.12 percentage points), and Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance, of 0.2% (+0.01 percentage points). The increase in prices at the annual level was alleviated by a decrease in the prices in the divisions Education, of 1.0% (contribution to the decrease of -0.01 percentage points), and Transport, of 0.8% (-0.11 percentage points).
In September 2025, the prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the harmonised index of consumer prices, increased by 4.6% on average compared to September 2024 (at the annual level). Compared to August 2025 (at the monthly level), they decreased by 0.6% on average.
