The prices in October 2025 increased by 3.6% at the annual level
For the third month in a row, the highest increase in the division Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel
In October 2025 compared to October 2024 (at the annual level), the prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index, increased by 3.6% on average, while, compared to September 2025 (at the monthly level), they increased by 0.6% on average.Observing the main divisions of the ECOICOP classification, at the annual level, the highest increase on average in consumer prices was recorded in the following divisions: Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, of 8.4% (contribution to the growth of +1.42 percentage points), Restaurants and hotels, of 6.9% (+0.35 percentage points), Communication, of 4.9% (+0.25 percentage points), Health, of 4.7% (+0.15 percentage points), Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, of 4.5% (+0.22 percentage points), Food and non-alcoholic beverages, of 4.4% (+1.17 percentage points), Miscellaneous goods and services, of 3.7% (+0.23 percentage points), and Recreation and culture, of 3.0% (+0.16 percentage points). The increase in prices at the annual level was alleviated by a decrease in the prices in the divisions Clothing and footwear, of 2.2% (contribution to the decrease of -0.15 percentage points), Education, of 1.5% (-0.01 percentage points), and Transport, of 1.1% (-0.15 percentage points).
In October 2025, the prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the harmonised index of consumer prices, increased by 4.0% on average compared to October 2024 (at the annual level). Compared to September 2025 (at the monthly level), they decreased by 0.2% on average.
