The largest number of accommodation units for persons with disabilities and limited mobility recorded in the County of Primorje-Gorski kotar

Hotels had the largest number of rooms and suites for persons with disabilities and limited mobility

Out of 1 043 accommodation establishments in the Republic of Croatia in 2021 classified in the group Hotels and similar accommodation, in which tourist nights were realised, 368, or 35.3%, were equipped with accommodation units (rooms and suites) for persons with disabilities and limited mobility.

As regards the group Hotels and similar accommodation, hotels had the largest number of accommodation units for persons with disabilities and limited mobility, as much as 1 478, which accounted for 82.3% of the total available accommodation units for persons with disabilities and limited mobility.

These are the results of the survey on accessibility of tourist accommodation establishments to persons with limited mobility, which is conducted every three years with the purpose of monitoring the number of accommodation establishments equipped with one or several accommodation units (rooms and suites) for persons with disabilities and limited mobility.

Of all counties, the County of Primorje-Gorski kotar had the largest number of accommodation units for persons with disabilities and limited mobility, which accounted for 22.1% of the total available accommodation units for persons with disabilities and limited mobility. It was followed by the County of Split-Dalmatia with 18.2%, the County of Istria with 13.9%, the County of Dubrovnik-Neretva with 9.2%, the City of Zagreb with 6.8% and the County of Osijek-Baranja with 6.7%.
