The 7th OECD Forum on Well-being took place in Rome
Strengthening Well-being Approaches for a Changing World
From 4th to 6th November 2024, the Italian capital hosted the 7th World Forum of the Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on Well-being. The event brought together a broad stakeholder platform to advance societal action towards fair and sustainable well-being. The Croatian Bureau of Statistics was represented by Lidija Brković, Director General of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, Ivana Aljinović, Head of the Director General’s Office, and Marija Kamenski, Head of the International Relations Department.The theme of the Forum was “Strengthening Well-being Approaches for a Changing World, aimed at highlighting the need to centre people’s well-being across all areas of public policy and all forms of societal action to successfully navigate the complex transitions facing today’s economies and societies. A comprehensive view of economic, social and environmental factors is essential to mitigate the negative effects, such as inequality, on vulnerable groups.
The importance of multidimensional indicators of well-being and commitments to the Sustainable Development Goals were also discussed. It also marked the 20th anniversary of the 1st OECD World Forum on Statistics, Knowledge and Policy, held in Palermo in 2024.
