Retail trade turnover increased in June 2023 by 2.2% at the annual level

Turnover rose in nine trade branches

In June 2023, compared to the same month of the previous year, the working-day adjusted retail trade turnover increased in real terms by 2.2%. Out of that, the retail trade turnover of food products, beverages and tobacco increased by 1.7%, while the retail trade turnover of non-food products (except of automotive fuels and lubricants) increased by 2.5%.

The increase in the turnover in June 2023 compared to the same month of the previous year, according to gross, unadjusted indices, was recorded in nine trade branches, while it fell in two trade branches.

The largest impact on the increase in the nominal turnover in June 2023 compared to the same month of the previous year, according to gross, unadjusted indices, was recorded in the following trade branches: Non-specialised stores with food, beverages and tobacco predominating, with a rise in turnover of 15.8% and an impact on the total turnover of 5.9%, Motor vehicles, parts and accessories for motor vehicles, with a rise in turnover of 55.4% and an impact on the total turnover of 1.9%, and Textile, clothing, footwear and leather goods, with a rise in turnover of 19.0% and an impact on the total turnover of 1.4%. Accordingly, the total gross retail trade turnover increased in nominal terms by 11.7% compared to the same month of the previous year.
