Retail trade turnover in February 2025 increased by 2.6% at the annual level

Real retail trade turnover has continued to increase for the 23rd consecutive month

In February 2025, the total seasonally and working-day adjusted retail trade turnover of all business entities engaged in this activity was in real terms 0.9% lower than in January 2025. Out of that, the retail trade turnover of food products decreased by 3.7%, whereas the retail trade turnover of non-food products (except for automotive fuels and lubricants) decreased by 0.9%.

In February 2025, compared to the same month of the previous year, the working-day adjusted retail trade turnover increased in real terms by 2.6%. Out of that, the retail trade turnover of food, beverages and tobacco decreased by 4.7% and the retail trade turnover of non-food products (except for automotive fuels and lubricants) increased by 4.7%.

In the first two months of 2025, the working-day adjusted retail trade turnover increased by 3.5% in real terms, compared to the same period of the previous year.

According to gross, unadjusted indices, five trade branches recorded an increase while four trade branches recorded a decrease in turnover in February 2025, as compared to the same month of the previous year. According to gross, unadjusted indices, retail trade of medicines and medical products had the largest impact on the increase in nominal turnover in February 2025, as compared to the same month of the previous year.
