Retail trade in March 2025 sees a 3.6% increase at the annual level

In March 2025, the retail trade turnover increases in real terms both at the annual and at the monthly level

In March 2025, the total seasonally and working-day adjusted retail trade turnover of all business entities engaged in this activity was 1.4% higher in real terms than in February 2025. Out of that, the retail trade turnover of food products increased by 2.1% and the retail trade turnover of non-food products (except for automotive fuels and lubricants) by 0.8%.

Real retail trade turnover continues to increase for two consecutive years

In March 2025, compared to the same month of the previous year, the working-day adjusted retail trade turnover increased by 3.6% in real terms. Out of that, the retail trade turnover of food, beverages and tobacco decreased by 2.2%, whereas the retail trade turnover of non-food products (except for automotive fuels and lubricants) increased by 7.7%.

In the first three months of 2025, the working-day adjusted retail trade turnover increased by 3.5% in real terms compared to the same period of the previous year.

Retail trade in furniture, hardware, paints and glass and other household articles had the largest impact on the increase in nominal turnover.
