Regional Development and EU Funds Days 2024 were held

Director General participated in a panel about human capacities

The annual conference Regional Development and EU Funds Days 2024 was held in Šibenik from the 4th to the 6th of December 2024. It gathered almost 1 000 representatives of counties, cities and municipalities, regional coordinators, public bodies and entrepreneurs. The Croatian Bureau of Statistics was represented by Lidija Brković, the Director General.

The first day of the conference was dedicated to entrepreneurs and contracts for 78 innovative entrepreneurial products and services were awarded. The next two days were dedicated to the representatives of counties, towns and municipalities, regional coordinators and other public bodies that participate in the preparation and implementation of projects crucial for a balanced regional development of Croatia.

The conference programme covered numerous topics and specific areas of regional development. The future of cohesion policy after 2027, the investment opportunities in 2025 and human resources of the EU funds management and control system were also discussed.

Lidija Brković actively participated in The importance of human capacities for the system of EU funds panel discussion. The goal of that discussion, among other things, was to provide answers to questions about the challenges related to employees and their satisfaction, about the needs of institutions and the profiles of experts that are required, as well as to develop measures institutions can implement to attract potential employees.
