Prices of goods and services in March 2023 increased by 10.7% on annual basis
Highest increase in consumer prices in divisions Food and non-alcoholic beverages and Restaurants and hotels
In March 2023, compared to March 2022 (at the annual level), the prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index, increased by 10.7% on average, while compared to February 2023 (at the monthly level), they increased by 0.9% on average.Observing the main divisions of the ECOICOP classification, at the annual level, the highest increase on average in consumer prices was recorded in the following divisions: Food and non-alcoholic beverages and Restaurants and hotels, of 17.4% in each division (contribution to the growth of +4.62 percentage points in the division Food and non-alcoholic beverages and +0.87 percentage points in the division Restaurants and hotels), Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, of 14.1% (+2.40 percentage points), Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance, of 12.9% (+0.75 percentage points), Miscellaneous goods and services, of 11.0% (+0.69 percentage points), Clothing and footwear, of 9.4% (+0.57 percentage points), Recreation and culture, of 8.0% (+0.42 percentage points), Health, of 6.0% (+0.19 percentage points) and Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, of 4.9% (+0.25 percentage points).
