Number of persons in employment decreased by 0.3% in August 2023 compared to previous month

Registered unemployment rate in August 2023 at 6.0%

In August 2023, the total number of persons in employment in the Republic of Croatia was 1 677 842, out of which 782 039 were women.

Compared to July 2023, the total number of persons in employment decreased by 0.3% and the number of employed women by 0.7%. Compared to the same month of the previous year, the total number of persons in employment increased in August 2023 by 1.4% and the number of employed women by 1.5%. In the period from January to August 2023, as compared to the same period of the previous year, the total number of persons in employment increased by 1.1% and the number of employed women by 1.4%.

The total number of unemployed persons increased by 3.5% and the number of employed women by 5.5% in August 2023 as compared to July 2023. The total registered unemployment rate in August 2023 was at 6.0% and for women at 7.6%.
