In the period from April to June 2024, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics carried out for the first time the Statistical Survey on Road Transport by Light Utility Vehicles, the results of which have just been released in Statistics in Line. The results show that 39% of journeys related to the transport of goods, 32% to provision of services and 29% to transport of passengers and other private transport.
Regarding travel distance, 37% referred to urban roads as well as to other roads and 26% to motorways.
National transport dominated the road transport of goods by light utility vehicles, accounted for 98.6% of goods transported and 93.9% of kilometers travelled.
The survey was conducted as part of the project Development of New Transport Statistics and, at the same time, it is the result of activities aimed at monitoring and analysing of the European Green Deal, in which transport is one of the main intervention domains.
The survey covered vehicles with a loading capacity of less than 3.5 tonnes and was carried out on a random sample of vehicles used by business entities (enterprises and natural persons).
