Monitoring tourism intensity from now on also on interactive maps
New development on GeoSTAT portal
In addition to the PC-Axis database, statistical indicators of tourism intensity can be monitored on the GeoSTAT portal from now on. The Croatian Bureau of Statistics has provided its users with this novelty by upgrading the portal in a way that all those interested will be able to spatially monitor tourism intensity trends at the HR_NUTS 2021 – HR NUTS 2 level and the county level.Users will now be able to monitor indicators in a more streamlined way by means of available charts, such as the number of tourist nights per 100 inhabitants, the number of tourist nights per unit area (km2), the number of permanent beds in commercial accommodation facilities per 100 inhabitants or the number of permanent beds per unit area (km2), as well as the average number of tourist nights per bed.
By means of this user-friendly and visually attractive way of data search, one can get information about the County of Istria being a front-runner in almost all of the mentioned indicators of tourism intensity in 2022. What ranks this County first are the figures such as 14 thousand tourist nights per 100 inhabitants, almost 10 thousand tourist nights per square kilometre, with 153 permanent beds per 100 inhabitants and 106 permanent beds per square kilometre.
Moreover, a further data search reveals that the County of Krapina-Zagorje recorded the highest average number of tourist nights per bed with an average of 117 tourist nights per bed, followed by the County of Međimurje with 102, Istria with 93 and the City of Zagreb with 92 tourist nights per bed.
We invite you to visit the GeoSTAT portal, take a look at the indicators of tourism intensity in your county and compare it with other counties!
