In the third quarter of 2023, the gross domestic product increased by 2.8% compared to the same quarter of 2022

Economic activity has been showing an annual growth for eleven quarters in a row now

The quarterly GDP increased by 2.8% in real terms in the third quarter of 2023 compared to the same quarter of 2022.
 
The first estimate shows that the quarterly gross value added (GVA) increased in real terms by 1.7% in the third quarter of 2023, as compared to the same quarter of 2022, based on non-adjusted data. The increase in GVA is visible in most activity sections, which was mainly influenced by the increase in Wholesale and retail trade, transportation, storage, accommodation and food service activities, and Professional, scientific, technical, administrative and support service activities.
 
The household expenditure in real terms increased by 3.0% in the third quarter of 2023, which was mainly affected by the increase in the turnover from retail trade.
 
In the third quarter of 2023, the general government final consumption expenditure in real terms increased by 2.1% compared to the same quarter last year.
 
In the third quarter of 2023, both the exports and the imports of goods and services in real terms decreased, by 8.5% and by 12.1%, respectively.
