In May 2023, there were 1.6 million tourist arrivals and 5.6 million tourist nights

Counties of Istria and Split-Dalmatia jointly realised 52.1% of all tourist nights

In May 2023, there were 1.6 million arrivals and 5.6 million nights in commercial accommodation establishments, which was 31.9% more tourist arrivals and 30.7% more tourist nights as compared to May 2022.

Domestic tourists realised 251 thousand arrivals and 568 thousand nights, which was 1.6% less tourist arrivals and 0.9% more nights as compared to May 2022. They spent the most nights in the City of Zagreb.

Foreign tourists realised 1.4 million arrivals and 5.0 million nights, which was 40.7% more tourist arrivals and 35.2% more tourist nights as compared to May 2022. They spent the most nights in Dubrovnik.
 
Nights realised by tourists from Germany made up one third of all foreign tourist nights

In May 2023, tourists from Germany realised the most foreign tourist nights, as much as 1.7 million of them, which accounted for 33.4% of the total realised foreign tourist nights. These were followed by tourists from Austria (12.3%), the United Kingdom (7.1%), Poland (5.5%), Slovenia (5.4%) and the USA (4.3%).
 
Counties of Istria and Split-Dalmatia jointly realised 52.1% of all tourist nights in May 2023

The County of Istria recorded the highest number of tourist nights in May 2023, as much as 2.0 million of them, which accounted for 35.1% of the total realised tourist nights in Croatia. Compared to May 2022, there were 33.9% more tourist nights realised in the County of Istria.
In the County of Split-Dalmatia, tourists realised 946 thousand nights, which accounted for 17.0% of the total realised tourist nights in Croatia. Compared to May 2022, there were 30.8% more tourist nights realised in the County of Split-Dalmatia.
