In January 2023, the total number of persons in employment records a decrease of 1.7% compared to the month before

The total registered unemployment rate reaches 7.2%

In January 2023, the total number of persons in employment in the Republic of Croatia amounted to 1 586 438, of which 741 220 were women. Compared to December 2022, the total number of persons in employment was 1.7% lower, while the number of employed women was 2.4% lower.
 
Compared to the same month last year, in January 2023 the total number of persons in employment was 2.1% higher and the number of women was 1.8% higher.
 
In January 2023, the total number of persons in employment in legal entities of the Republic of Croatia amounted to 1 378 064, of which 655 012 were women. Compared to December 2022, the total number of persons in employment in legal entities was 1.8% lower and the number of employed women was 2.6% lower. Compared to the same month last year, in January 2023 the total number of persons in employment in legal entities was 2.3% higher and the number of employed women was 1.9% higher.
 
Compared to the previous month, in January 2023 the total number of persons in employment in crafts and trades and free lances was 1.0% lower and the number of employed women was 1.2% lower. The total number of insured persons – private farmers was 0.1% lower and the number of employed female farmers was 0.5% lower.
 
The number of unemployed persons in January 2023, as compared to December 2022, increased by 3.9% and the number of unemployed women by 2.9%.

The total registered unemployment rate in January 2023 was 7.2% and for women it was 8.5%.
