It will be conducted on a sample of 8 000 respondents aged 18 to 69

The participation of adults in education, training and learning in the context of lifelong learning is becoming increasingly important, and in order to keep up with changes and progress in this area, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics conducts the Adult Education Survey (AES) every six years, which, in addition to the Republic of Croatia, is also conducted in parallel in all Member States of the European Union.

The Survey will be conducted from 15 November 2022 to the end of February 2023 on a randomly selected sample of 8 000 inhabitants of the Republic of Croatia aged 18 to 69, and the aim is to collect data on the participation of adults in formal and non-formal education and informal learning, as well as on the difficulties that prevented them from participating in these activities. In addition, we will get an insight into the changes that have occurred in relation to the last survey conducted.

The Survey will be conducted by the computer-assisted interviewing by authorised interviewers, who will show their official ID card of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics upon their arrival at the household. All the collected data are statistically confidential and an official secret. They will be used exclusively for statistical purposes and published as aggregate, and it will not be possible to recognise the answers of persons who participated in the survey based on those data.
