Growth in the prices of goods and services for personal consumption continues

The highest increase in annual consumer price index in groups Food and non-alcoholic beverages and Transport

In March 2022 compared to the same period of the previous year, the prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index, increased by 7.3% on average.

Observed by the main divisions of the ECOICOP classification, the highest increase in consumer prices at the annual level was recorded in Transport, of 14.4% on average (contribution to the growth rate of +2.12 percentage points), and in Food and non-alcoholic beverages, of 10.8% (+2.80 percentage points).

Observing the selected groups, the highest increase on average in consumer prices at the annual level was recorded in the groups Energy, of 13.3% (contribution to the growth of +2.23 percentage points), Unprocessed food, of 9.5% (+0.80 percentage points), and Food, beverages and tobacco, of 9.2% (+2.85 percentage points).

In March 2022 compared to February 2022, the highest increase on average in consumer prices was recorded in the divisions Clothing and footwear, of 12.2%, and Transport, of 5.3%, while the prices of goods and services at the monthly level increased by 2.1% on average.
