For whom was seven a lucky number?

We found out the winners of the Statistics Competition!

The seventh season of the Statistics Competition has entered the most interesting phase! After two rounds of the national phase, we have found out who was the most successful this season.

The first place in category A, for students of 3rd and 4th grades of secondary school, was won by team GOSPODA from Electromechanical School Varaždin. Silver went to team KEMIČARI from the Fifteenth Gymnasium in Zagreb, while team BIMBOLO from the Secondary School Novska won the third place.

The best team in category B, in which secondary school students of the 1st and 2nd grades compete, is TRICEPSI from the First Gymnasium in Zagreb, while the second place belongs to team TEHNIČAR from Technical School Sisak. The Fifteenth Gymnasium from Zagreb placed themselves on the throne in this category as well, so the members of their team TRIOSONATA will wear the bronze medal around their necks.

This year, again, we gave the public the opportunity to see the ten best presentations that passed the pre-selection and vote for the ones they consider the best. The interest of the public in one week of voting exceeded our expectations and we collected more than 57 thousand votes in total. Team IVESSA from the Secondary School of Economics Velika Gorica won the Public Choice Award in category A, while team KRIZA from the Secondary School Novska won the Public Choice Award in category B.

We are rewarding effort and knowledge this year as well, so students and mentors won valuable prizes such as mobile phones, tablets and smart watches, as well as a course of the University Computing Centre (Srce) of the University of Zagreb.

Next comes the European phase of the competition, in which the best two teams from each category will compete against their peers from as many as 20 European countries! We wish our dedicated and imaginative high school students the best of luck, and we thank the rest, who have finished the competitive part of this school year, and invite them to continue following our activities! Shhhhh... the next season is already in preparation!
