First meeting of representatives of Croatian Bureau of Statistics and Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb

Signature of scientific and development cooperation agreement

The first working meeting between the Croatian Bureau of Statistics and the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb was held on 23 October 2023. The meeting was attended by Lidija Brković, Director-General of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, Linda Kasalo Malić, Deputy Director-General, Mila Primorac Čačić, Director of Business Statistics Directorate, Andrea Galić Nagyszombaty, Director of Statistical Methodologies, Quality and Customer Relations, and Prof Sanja Sever Mališ, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Associate Professor Zoran Wittine, PhD, Vice-Dean for Business and Infrastructure, Associate Professor Jakša Krišto, PhD, Vice-Dean for Students and Study Programs, and Prof Tomislav Hernaus, PhD, representative of the Department of Organisation and Management.

The meeting was held on the occasion of the signing of the scientific and development cooperation agreement with the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb. The subject of the agreement is mutual provision of scientific, professional, business and organisational services with a view to improving the overall efficiency and business performance, regular exchange of business-relevant information relating to the possibilities of strengthening mutual business relations and cooperation, implementation of thematic research, development of scientific and professional projects, and bringing together of scientists and experts specialising in different fields. In accordance with a signed agreement, the meeting discussed forms of scientific and development cooperation, in particular in the context of mutual provision of scientific and professional services and organising various types of training and education for the employees of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics.



Such an agreement is of utmost importance not only for the scientific community, but also for the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, which as the main producer, disseminator and coordinator of the official statistical system of the Republic of Croatia, with its almost 150 years of expertise in data collection and processing, has proven to be an indispensable cornerstone and the starting point of almost every research project.

“The agreement between the Croatian Bureau of Statistics and the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb will further contribute to the quality implementation of scientific and research projects”, remarked Director-General of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics Lidija Brković.
With the signing of the agreement with the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb, following the agreement on scientific and development cooperation concluded with the Faculty of Economics in Rijeka, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics continues its cooperation with the academic community.
