Find out interesting information about selected Croatian cities
New publication Statistical Postcards of Cities
Are you interested in the length of cycle paths, the price of public transport and taxi services in Osijek or Slavonski Brod? What is the annual attendance of cinemas and museums in Zagreb or Rijeka? How many nights tourists spend in Split, Zadar or Pula? You can find the answers to these and other similar questions in the publication Statistical Postcards of Cities in which, for the first time, information on seven cities and their historical, cultural and tourist attractions can be found in one place, with a special emphasis on statistical indicators of the quality of life in each individual city, applicable for the implementation of different types of public policies. This publication is the result of the European Subnational Statistics project, within which data were collected for seven cities of the Republic of Croatia and their functional areas - Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Osijek, Zadar, Slavonski Brod and Pula. These are the cities that were included in the project on the basis of the Degree of urbanisation classification (DEGURBA), that is, its extension with a classification of functional urban areas (FUA).
Explanations of individual variables that were collected in the project can be found in the Methodological manual on city statistics, and data collected in the project are published in PC-Axis Databases of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics.
We believe that you will find this publication interesting not only thanks to the tabular, graphic and cartographic representations, but also because of the accompanying texts, photographs and other graphic elements that make the publication even more attractive.
