Final conference held on the NRRP investment in the public administration data infrastructure

Lidija Brković, Director General of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, participated in a panel discussion on artificial intelligence and data

On 16 June 2026, the final conference on investment C2.3 R2-I2, "Establishment of a Central Data Repository and Business Analytics System", under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), organised by the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation, was held in Dubrovnik.

The conference was opened by Vedrana Šimundža Nikolić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation, and the investment C2.3 R2-I2, "Establishment of a Central Data Repository and Business Analytics System", was presented later in the programme.

Participants had the opportunity to learn about the government cloud as the core infrastructure for secure data exchange in public administration, examples of using the data platform, the application of artificial intelligence in science and medicine, and the role of artificial intelligence and data as drivers of innovation in state administration.

Lidija Brković, Director General of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, participated in the panel discussion "AI and Data as Drivers of Innovation in Public Administration", where she spoke about the potential applications of artificial intelligence in the production of official statistics. On that occasion, she emphasised, "With a central data platform and an interoperability system in place, the data collection process will become faster and more automated while maintaining the highest standards of security, quality and trust in official statistics." She added that this creates further opportunities for the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, as the central analytical authority, to integrate data from different sources more effectively and provide a reliable basis for the adoption of public policies.
