Director General of the CBS participated in the CNB and IMF conference
Lidija Brković, the Director General of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, participated in the conference "Policymaking in Choppy Waters: Fostering Resilience in Central Eastern and South-eastern Europe", which was organised by the Croatian National Bank (CNB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and held in Dubrovnik from 2 to 3 June 2023.
The working part of the conference was opened by introductory speeches of the CNB Governor Boris Vujčić and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, while the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković delivered the welcoming speech. The focus of the conference were topics related to inflation, sustainable economic growth and solving energy problems in Europe, with an emphasis on strengthening energy security with green transition, adaptation to existing transitions in trade patterns and foreign direct investments, as well as management of macroeconomic and structural policies.
The conference gathered representatives of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, central bank governors and ministers of finance from Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, representatives of the European Commission and the European Investment Bank, as well as representatives of academic community and civil society.
