Conference on Digitalisation and Big Data Analytics in Public Sector Held in Zagreb

Digitalisation of existing processes in focus of Croatian Bureau of Statistics 

Lidija Brković, Director-General of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, participated in the conference “Digitalisation and Big Data Analytics in the Public Sector” held in Zagreb on 9 October 2023.

The conference gathered leading experts from the public and private sectors to share lessons learned on the practical aspects of digitalisation and the application of Big Data analytics in the public sector.

The Director-General participated in the panel discussion on "Opportunities for digitalisation and the application of Big Data analytics in the public sector", where she pointed out that the Croatian Bureau of Statistics has made great efforts in developing official statistics in order to maximise the use of new data sources and data processing and analytics platforms in its work, within the framework of the digital transformation.

"The focus of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics is on digitalisation of existing processes. However, through participating and keeping pace with trends developed within Eurostat, we will certainly be able to link up more quickly and easily to new ways of collecting and processing data,” stated Director-General Lidija Brković.
