Conference "Croatian Immigration and Economic Development: Characteristics and Opportunities" took place

Investments, achievements of Croatian emigrants and successful returnee stories presented on various panels

A conference of the Ministry of Demography and Immigration was held in Osijek from 13 to 15 October 2025, which brought together business people, prominent returnee entrepreneurs, experts, representatives of the academic community, state and local institutions, and representatives of the Croatian diaspora.

The topic of the conference was "Croatian Immigration and Economic Development: Characteristics and Opportunities”. It discussed the challenges and opportunities of connecting Croats abroad with the economic and social life of the Republic of Croatia. Successful examples of investment, returns and knowledge transfer were also presented.

The Croatian Bureau of Statistics was represented by Lidija Brković, the Director General of the CBS and Tatjana Radić, Senior Advisor in the Vital Statistics and Migrations Unit.
