Agreement on scientific and professional cooperation signed with the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek
The Croatian Bureau of Statistics continues collaboration with the academic community
The Croatian Bureau of Statistics (hereinafter: the Bureau) and the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek have signed an agreement on scientific and professional cooperation that will enable the implementation of various programmes, projects, and other forms of collaboration between the two institutions. The agreement was signed by Lidija Brković, Director General of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, and Professor Dr. Sc. Boris Crnković, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek.
Alongside Lidija Brković, Director General, the signing ceremony was attended by Marcela Fagač Gracin, Director of the Financial and Procurement Directorate, as well as professors Dr. Sc. Sunčica Oberman Peterka, Dr. Sc. Nataša Drvenkar, and Dr. Sc. Ivan Kelić.
The presence and involvement of the academic community hold great significance for the Bureau’s work because they enable a two-way exchange of knowledge. While the academic community depends on high-quality, transparent statistical data for their studies, the Bureau benefits from gaining insights into the data needs of the scientific community.
The agreement, among other things, outlines the mutual provision of scientific, professional, business, and organisational services; the organisation of seminars, workshops, roundtable discussions, conferences, and educational programmes; collaboration on joint projects funded by European Union grants; joint participation in enhancing the quality of and modernising academic study programmes; involvement in internships, workshops, seminars, and lectures; utilisation of human resources for the purpose of providing expert opinions; joint efforts in publishing relevant topics in professional journals; and the preparation of reports and scientific/professional studies in the field of social sciences.
The signing of this agreement marks another significant step forward in strengthening the ties between the academic community and the Bureau, while also providing opportunities for innovation, development projects, and a closer integration of scientific theory with practical application.
