Advantages of the Accession of the Republic of Croatia to the OECD Conference held
Technical review in the field of statistics successfully completed this summer
The conference Advantages of the Accession of the Republic of Croatia to the OECD was held, organised by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Croatian Employers' Association and the OECD association Business at OECD, with the support of the Commission Representation in Croatia. Lidija Brković, the Director General of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics participated in the conference.Introductory speeches were given by the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman, the Director General of the Croatian Employers' Association Irena Weber and the Chief Economist and G20 Finance Deputy of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Álvaro Santos Pereira. The conference featured two panel discussions: Advantages of OECD Membership and Improvement of the Business and Investment Environment and Corporate Governance - Business Perspective of the Accession.
We would like to point out that this summer the Croatian Bureau of Statistics successfully completed the technical review in the field of statistics carried out by the Committee on Statistics and Statistical Policy of the OECD. The Bureau received praise for a well-developed legal and institutional framework, greatly harmonised with the OECD Recommendation on Good Statistical Practice, as well as for its efficiency as the coordinator of the Croatian statistical system.
