A decrease in the number of unemployed persons of 2.7% in 2025 compared to 2024

1.70 million employed persons - an increase of 1.1% compared to 2024

According to the Labour Force Survey, it is estimated that in 2025, the Republic of Croatia had an average of 3.31 million persons in the working-age population (aged 15 and over), of which 1.79 million persons were active (the sum of employed and unemployed persons), and 1.52 million persons were inactive.
The data from the Labour Force Survey show that there were 1.70 million employed persons on average in the Republic of Croatia in 2025, which is an increase of 19 thousand, or 1.1%, compared to 2024. In the same observed period, the number of unemployed persons decreased by 2.7%, or 2 thousand, and amounted to 87 thousand.

Employment rate for persons aged 15 to 64 amounted to 68.8%

In 2025, the employment rate for persons aged 15 to 64 was 68.8%, which is an increase of 0.5 percentage points compared to 2024.
The ILO unemployment rate for persons aged 15 to 64 was 4.9%, which is a decrease of 0.2 percentage points compared to 2024.
The share of employees in the total number of employed persons in 2025 was 86.9%, the same as in 2024. The share of self-employed persons was 12.5%, which is an increase of 0.1 percentage points compared to 2024. The rest were unpaid family workers.
