Conference on the future of statistical literacy

Focus on the collaboration between official statistical institutes and educational institutions

Lidija Brković, Director General of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, Nada Pejić, Director of the Human Resources, Legal and General Affairs Directorate, and Marija Kamenski, Head of the International Relations Department, are attending the conference “Towards a More Statistically Literate Future”, which takes place on 2 and 3 May 2024 in Bruges, Belgium.

The conference is hosted by the Statistics Belgium in the context of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The conference will be focused on enhancing statistical and data literacy among young people by fostering closer collaboration between educational institutions and official statistical institutes, and it will also provide an opportunity to debate and exchange experiences on enhancing statistical literacy among young people.

During the conference, the Director General is participating in the Session “Integrating Official Statistics into Educational Materials, Activities and Programmes” and in the Session “Effective Communication and Dissemination Strategies to Engage and Educate Young People about Statistics”.
